Getting started

Create your first contact list

Name a list, choose contacts, and review the fields you want to share.
  1. Open CNTC and tap the plus button.
  2. Enter a name that participants will recognize.
  3. Choose contacts from Apple Contacts.
  4. Review the fields CNTC proposes for each person.
  5. Save the list, then choose how you want to share it.

Creating unlimited lists requires the Shared List Creator purchase. Joining and collaborating on lists shared with you stays free.

Privacy and control

Choose which contact fields are shared

Review each person and include only the details participants need.

CNTC treats sharing as a per-field choice.

  1. Open a contact in your list.
  2. Choose Shared Fields.
  3. Turn individual details on or off.
  4. Save your changes.

A name is always included so the entry is understandable. Contact Notes are excluded by default because they can contain private information. Review photos, dates, relationships, and online profiles before enabling them.

Sharing

Invite people and choose permissions

Invite privately or share a link, then choose view or edit access.

Open a list and choose its sharing controls.

  • Use an invitation when you want access intended for a specific person.
  • Use Anyone with Link only when forwarding the link is acceptable.
  • Choose Can View for read-only access.
  • Choose Can Edit when participants should add or change shared entries.

Changing the access mode can reset existing sharing. CNTC explains the impact before applying the change.

Sharing

Join a list someone shared with you

Open the Apple invitation, accept it, and find the list in CNTC.
  1. Open the CloudKit invitation URL on a compatible Apple device.
  2. Confirm the invitation using the Apple Account you use for iCloud.
  3. Allow CNTC to finish importing the shared zone.
  4. Open Lists if the new list does not appear automatically.

Joining, viewing, and editing an invited list does not require a purchase. If the invitation fails, confirm that iCloud Drive is available and ask the owner whether the invitation is still active.

Sharing
Manage participants and stop sharing

Review participants, change permissions, block access, or stop sharing a list.

List owners can open sharing controls to review people, invitations, access requests, and blocked identities. Available actions depend on Apple CloudKit state and your role.

Removing someone prevents future CloudKit access after the change synchronizes. It cannot remove contact details that person already imported, copied, or saved elsewhere.

Contacts
Import shared contacts into Apple Contacts

Review shared details and create or update local Apple Contacts entries.

Open a shared list and choose the import action. CNTC compares entries with contacts you can access and lets you review possible matches before writing anything.

An imported contact becomes a local Apple Contacts copy. Later shared-list changes do not automatically overwrite every imported field, so review important updates before importing again.

Sync and iCloud
Understand synchronization status

Check iCloud availability and what to do when a list is not current.

CNTC shows synchronization status in Settings and may display a banner when attention is needed.

If a list is not current:

  1. Confirm the device is online.
  2. Confirm you are signed in to the expected Apple Account and iCloud Drive is available.
  3. Open Settings → Sync Status and check again.
  4. Leave CNTC open briefly so CloudKit can finish processing changes.

Do not delete the app or shared list as a first troubleshooting step.

Purchases
Unlock list creation or restore a purchase

Learn what the one-time purchase unlocks and how restoration works.

The Shared List Creator is a one-time App Store purchase that unlocks unlimited list creation. Joining, viewing, and editing lists shared with you remains free.

Open Settings → Shared List Creator to purchase or restore. Apple determines the price, payment status, Family Sharing eligibility, restoration, and refunds. Use the same Apple Account that made or shares the purchase.

Privacy and control
How CNTC protects contact information

Shared lists use iCloud, and CNTC’s report server never receives your contacts.

Shared list contents are stored and synchronized through Apple iCloud and CloudKit. The CNTC website database does not receive your address book, list contents, CloudKit record identifiers, or invitation URLs.

When sending feedback, you control the text and can turn off limited app/device diagnostics. Read the Privacy Policy for full details.

Support
Send a bug report or feature request

Submit feedback from CNTC with optional, clearly listed diagnostics.
  1. Open Settings → Send Feedback.
  2. Choose Bug, Feature Request, or Other.
  3. Add a short subject and a useful description.
  4. Review Include Diagnostics and turn it off if you prefer.
  5. Submit the report.

Diagnostics are limited to app version/build, iOS version, device model, and app locale. CNTC never attaches contacts, list names, CloudKit identifiers, invitation URLs, or purchase identifiers.

Do not paste private contact information, passwords, payment details, or invitation links into the description. You can also email support@cntc.app.
